Dark and Light

Love is as unavoidable as death,
a passion as fierce as the grave
It burns like a blazing pyre,
as if a mighty flame

Love leaves a lack of breath,
a burning as harsh as any gave
It licks with tongues of crowning fire,
just as romance untamed

Love lingers with weight of heft,
a willingness to be saved
It smolders like wood that never tires,
as an emotion never sane
